The Newly appointed Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Nasarawa State, Doctor Isaac Nawani Aboki, has officially assumed duty with a commitment to build on the Ministry’s existing achievements and steer it toward greater heights.
The formal handover ceremony took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in Lafia and saw Doctor Aboki taking over from the Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, Mohammed Agah Ibrahim Muluku, who has been overseeing the Ministry in an acting capacity.
Speaking during the event, Mohammed Muluku described Doctor Aboki’s appointment as a well-deserved recognition of his extensive experience in the media industry, whose expertise would prove invaluable to the Ministry and the State at large.
The Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, expressed gratitude to the management and staff for their cooperation during his brief tenure and urged them to extend the same dedication to the new commissioner.
The New Commissioner, Doctor Isaac Nawani Aboki thanked his predecessor for maintaining stability during the transition and praised the staff for their commitment to duty.
Doctor Aboki expressed appreciation to Governor Abdullahi Sule for the privilege to serve under his administration.
He called for unity, professionalism, and a non-discriminatory approach to service delivery, stating that his administration would prioritize service to the State without regard to religion or tribe.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry , Hajiya Hadiza Dahiru, assured the Commissioner of their full support and cooperation by staff in achieving the Ministry Mandate.
The Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Doctor Nawani Aboki was conducted round the Ministry, remodeled Government Printing Press and was entertained by the Isa Kungar Cultural Troupe.
Shortly after the handing-over, the Commissioner proceeded to the premises of the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service, NBS, a radio and television station owned by the Nasarawa State Government, where he inspected ongoing works and facilities.
During the visit, Dr. Aboki examined the equipment installations and other infrastructural developments at the station, with a view to assessing the level of work and determining when the ongoing projects would be completed and put to use.
The contractor handling the project assured the Commissioner that the work would be completed in due course once the necessary materials and other requirements are made available.
The Commissioner also expressed commitment to ensuring that the facilities are completed and effectively utilized to enhance broadcasting and information dissemination in Nasarawa State.(Universal Reporters)
