The Federal Government has launched the Renewed Hope Students Leaders Engagement and Digital Acceleration Programme to equip Nigerian students with digital skills, enhance their employability and promote entrepreneurship in the evolving global economy.
The initiative was unveiled in Enugu during the South-East edition of the programme by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students Engagement, Comrade Sunday Daya. The event was themed, “Empowering Students With Digital Skills and Innovation.”
Speaking at the launch, Daya said the programme reflects President Bola Tinubu's commitment to investing in Nigeria's youthful population through policies that provide students with the skills, opportunities and platforms needed to succeed in the digital age.
He explained that the initiative is designed to deepen engagement between government and student leaders while exposing participants to emerging technologies and digital opportunities capable of boosting their employability and entrepreneurial potential.
According to Daya, the digital revolution has created vast opportunities in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software development, data analytics and digital marketing, stressing that Nigerian students must become innovators and creators of technological solutions rather than mere consumers.
Also speaking, the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Kingsley Udeh, reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to raising a generation of digitally skilled and technology-driven youths, noting that the programme is aimed at preparing students for careers and business opportunities beyond traditional employment.(Gist E-paper)
