The Nasarawa State Government has lifted the suspension on the activities of the Nasarawa State Education Trust Fund (NASETFUND) and reinstated its Executive Secretary, Comrade Abubakar Idris Adamu.
The development was contained in a public announcement signed by the Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Shuaibu Magaji Labaran, Ph.D, SAN, on September 14, 2026.
According to the statement, the action followed the completion and submission of the report of the High-powered Committee constituted to investigate the activities of the Fund, as well as the recommendation of the Nasarawa State Executive Council at its meeting held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
The statement said Governor Abdullahi A. Sule approved the lifting of the suspension on the Fund’s activities and the suspension of the Executive Secretary with immediate effect.
It would be recalled that Governor Abdullahi Sule had earlier ordered the suspension of all activities of NASETFUND and the Executive Secretary to allow for an independent and transparent investigation into the operations and financial dealings of the Fund.
The High-powered Committee was subsequently constituted to investigate the activities of the Fund and make appropriate recommendations to the government.
NASETFUND was established by the Nasarawa State Government as an intervention agency to support educational development in the state through provision of infrastructure, learning materials, and capacity building across basic, secondary and tertiary institutions.
With the lifting of the suspension, the Fund is expected to resume full operations in line with its statutory mandate.(Kwararafa Times Media)
