The Bauchi State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Usman Usman Shehu, has inspected newly supplied broadcast equipment acquired to modernise and revitalise the Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC) and Bauchi Television (BATV), including the BRC One AM station.

The inspection was conducted alongside the Chairman of the BRC and BATV Board of Directors, Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Bello, and members of the technical team overseeing the project.

Speaking during the inspection, Commissioner Usman described the arrival of the equipment as a major milestone in the state government’s efforts to restore the two media organisations to full operational capacity and align them with modern broadcasting standards.

He commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for the initiative, saying the intervention would significantly improve the stations’ capacity for news gathering, programme production and transmission, while enhancing the quality and reliability of their services.

The commissioner added that modernising the state-owned media organisations would strengthen communication between government and citizens by providing effective platforms for public information, enlightenment and development communication.

Also speaking, Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Bello expressed optimism over the development, describing the arrival of the equipment as evidence that the government’s vision to transform BRC and BATV was becoming a reality.

He said the people of Bauchi State would be the ultimate beneficiaries, as the intervention would provide more efficient and professionally produced broadcast services. He also pledged the cooperation of the management and staff of both organisations to ensure the successful completion of the project.

The Chief Engineer of Technosystem, the company handling the installation, Engineer Peter Adewumi, assured the commissioner that the equipment would be installed, configured and commissioned in line with professional and technical standards.

The intervention is expected to usher in a new era for BRC and BATV, strengthening their capacity to provide quality information, education, public enlightenment and development-oriented broadcasting across Bauchi State.(The Tentacles)
