The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Sokoto State Council, Usman Muhammad Binji, and the General Manager of ALU TV International, Bashar Abubakar, are among 11 distinguished personalities honoured by the 10 Youths Forum for their exemplary support of youth development in Sokoto State.
The awards were conferred during the group’s annual event, which celebrates community leaders, promotes humanitarian assistance during Ramadan, and advocates for social welfare.
A major highlight of the ceremony was a special commendation awarded to broadcaster Bashar Aminu Sabo, who gained national admiration for his extraordinary honesty in returning N20 million he found to its rightful owner.
Dignitaries at the event, including Sokoto North LG Chairman Alhaji Jamilu Umar Gosta, Sarkin Matasan Sokoto Alhaji Sarki Muhammad Bello Gobirawa, and Barrister Rashida Muhammad, unanimously called on young people across the state to maintain good conduct, seek knowledge, and serve as positive role models in their communities.
Aishatu urged mothers to embrace exclusive breastfeeding, describing it as one of the most effective and affordable interventions for improving child survival and development.
The road walk attracted a large turnout of government officials, development partners, healthcare workers, civil society organisations and other stakeholders.(People's Daily)
