High Chief Wisdom Chukwuma Okoye (Ozo Amamaife Chukwu 1 of ISUOKOMA Kingdom, who is also the Director of Diaspora Operations/International Liaison Officer to FORWARD BOLA AHMED TINUBU 2027 (IGC), has advocated for a thorough vetting before a king be coronated in the Country; he equally supported the creation of State Police bill passed by the National Assembly recently.

Chief Okoye made the call on Tuesday during a book lunch titled: “Culture Nigeria” written by its author/publisher, Isaac Osaikhiwu Isaac which was held at the Barcelona Hotel, Abuja.

He said, it is a high time for king’s makers to follow the parameters of selecting the best people in the society either as Paramount Chiefs, Emirs, and other titles.

Okoye added that it will be good for every traditional leader to be selected based on good character not other considerations saying, “if you coronated a traditional leader who is a thief, armed robber and a fraudster, there will be no way his subjects will behave well nor there be a meaningful development”, because it is said that leaders must show good examples.

Speaking further, Chief Okoye said, Nigerians should go and promote their culture both at home and abroad. “Wherever you go, you must first be identified by your culture. Go to your villages and proclaim it,” he added.

Everyone has to go to his or her different villages and ensure he/she proclaimed the culture they belong because anywhere you go, you must be first identify by your culture.

“You know, kingmakers, when you want to crown your kings, you should make sure you know the kind of person so that they don’t crown a questionable character person as a king.

“For when you get it right from the leader, there will be no problem. But when you crown a king and the king happens to be an armed robber or a thief or a fraudster, what do you expect? So, go to the grassroots, make sure that all has to do with culture or tradition, we need to get it right and let it happen.

Speaking about president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 campaign, he said we have to appreciate Mr. President. We are lucky that we have a president that has good ideas, who has the capacity to make difficult decisions.

On Security, Chief Okoye endorsed the proposed creation of state police, saying it will strengthen grassroots security.

While in politics, he praised President Tinubu for taking difficult but necessary decisions. He said the diaspora wing of the campaign group is ready to mobilise for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

“We are lucky to have a president with good ideas and the capacity to make hard decisions. In the diaspora, we have seen his work and we are ready to campaign for him in 2027,” he said.
