The Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́ Pivotal Club Lagos has expressed deep concern over the recent abduction of students and teachers in Ahoro Ẹ̀sínẹ̀lẹ̀ and Yáwọ́ta communities in Oríire Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing the incident as a painful and disturbing development for the people of Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́land and the nation at large.
In a statement jointly signed by the club’s President, Joel Ọ̀wọ́adé, and General Secretary, Gbìtẹ́ Adégòkè, the organisation condemned the abduction in strong terms, lamenting the anguish and uncertainty being endured by the victims’ families and the wider community.
The club said the kidnapping of the students and teachers had created widespread sorrow and despair across Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́land, Oyo State and Nigeria, stressing that innocent children and educators should never be subjected to such traumatic experiences.
According to the statement, the continued captivity of the victims remains particularly troubling, noting that the prolonged hostage situation has left families and residents in painful suspense while the captives endure conditions described as unimaginable for children of their age.
"The Board of Trustees, EXCO and entire members of Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́ Pivotal Club Lagos hereby express our deepest security concerns that culminated in the painful abduction of students and teachers in Ahoro Ẹ̀sínẹ̀lẹ̀ and Yáwọ́ta in Oríire Local Government Area of Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́land,” the statement read.
The organisation, however, commended the efforts of both the Oyo State and Federal Governments toward securing the release of the abducted students and teachers.
While acknowledging ongoing security interventions, the club called for intensified efforts to ensure the safe and immediate freedom of all those still being held.
It also offered prayers for divine intervention, expressing hope that the captives would soon regain their freedom and reunite with their families.
The statement concluded with a call for sustained action to address insecurity and protect vulnerable communities from future attacks.(Newsense)
