President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has felicitated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging citizens to embrace sacrifice, unity and compassion in the interest of national development.
In a Sallah message, the President described Eid-el-Kabir as a sacred festival that reflects the virtues of faith, obedience and selflessness as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.
President Tinubu said the celebration serves as a reminder for Nigerians to show mercy and compassion to one another irrespective of ethnic, religious or social differences.
The President noted that the country is on a path of reconstruction and renewal, stressing that the economic reforms introduced by his administration, though difficult, were necessary to reposition the nation for sustainable growth and prosperity.
President Tinubu expressed satisfaction that the sacrifices made by Nigerians over the past three years had started yielding positive results, including a more stable economy and increased investor confidence capable of driving job creation and economic growth.
On security, the President acknowledged the continued attacks by terrorists and bandits in some communities despite the efforts of security and intelligence agencies.
He, however, assured Nigerians that the government remained resolute in defeating all forms of criminality and evil forces threatening national peace and stability.
President Tinubu urged Muslims to use the Eid-el-Kabir period to pray for peace, unity and wisdom for leaders at all levels, while also extending love and support to the less privileged in society.
The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in security, infrastructure, agriculture and human capital development to ensure a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria for all citizens.
President Tinubu wished Nigerians a peaceful, joyous and blessed Eid-el-Kabir celebration and prayed for Allah’s continued blessings on the country.(Kada Times)
