The Governor of Taraba state, Agbu Kefas ,on Tuesday, approved over N1 billion to sponsor the registration fees for Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, (SSCE).
The initiative, as gathered by The Guardian, covers examinations conducted by the West African Examinations Council and the National Examinations Council.
The aim, as further gathered by our correspondent, is gear at removing financial barriers that often prevent eligible students from participating in the critical academic assessment.
According to the state government, the intervention is designed to ease the burden on parents and guardians while expanding access to education for thousands of students across the state.
Officials say the policy is part of a broader effort to strengthen the education sector and improve academic outcomes among young people.
The move has been described as a significant investment in human capital development, with expectations that it will increase examination participation rates and support long-term educational advancement in the state.
