The Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma has restated his desire to drive the Imo Charter of equity smoothly for posterity.

He spoke at the Expanded Exco Chambers in Owerri while addressing Party faithful and critical stakeholders on matters relating to APC State Congresses at all levels in the State.

In his words, "I want to drive the charter of equity smoothly. I want political harmony and of course I will never take your support for granted", he assured.

Going further, on succession, Governor Uzodinma restated that there was a need for a focused and credible succession plan disclosing he would put together strong infrastructure that would drive the succession just as one of the infrastructure would be the ward Congress.

On the Congresses, the State Chief Executive appealed to the Party faithful to be organic and do proper engineering in laying the foundation of the Party in the State.

" I will personally monitor the Congresses closely and if I discover any wayo, I will cancel it", he warned.

He said because of the Congresses, he has no relation or friend now all because he wanted a credible election.

On the e-registration, he announced that, nationally, Imo State came second in Nigeria adding that the e-registration would continue after the Congresses to ensure that Imo finished first.

He announced that an APC monitoring team from Abuja was already on ground to monitor the Ward Congress as well as the LGA Congress in every LGA and in the 305 Wards.

The Governor spoke of a proviso for harmonization, based on the existing template in the LGAs and Wards and opined that in the absence of a Consensus, there should be direct primaries.

Many Speakers aired their views lending credence to the Governor's speech and they included Chief Barrister Marcelinus Nlemigbo, Sir Jude Ejiogu, Hon Olemgbe and Hon Macdonald Ebere, all harped on the need to focus on Competence, Capacity, and Character when electing people and the need to elect people who are resident in the State and LGA.

Meanwhile, the Governor has directed the Chief of Staff, Hon Nnamdi Anyaehie to Collate and distribute what he called Congress pre-requisites and essentials to the L.G.A.'s and ensure congresses devoid of violence and rancour.
