The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced plans to host the 185th edition of its public engagement forum, “EFCC Connect,” with a focus on the controversial topic: “Fetish Yahoo Practices: Wealth, Waste or Myth?”
According to the Commission, the open forum is designed to foster dialogue between the agency and members of the public on issues relating to economic and financial crimes. The upcoming edition is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, February 18, at 6:00 p.m. (WAT).
The event will feature two senior officials of the Commission as speakers. They are ACE I Surajo Usman Sanusi, Head of Investigation at the EFCC Uyo Zonal Directorate in Uyo, and ACE II Suleiman Jijiwa, Head of Advance Fee Fraud at the EFCC Lagos 2 Zonal Directorate in Lagos.
The discussion will be streamed live on Facebook Live via the Commission’s official handle, as well as on X Space, allowing members of the public to participate virtually.
“EFCC Connect” is part of the Commission’s broader public enlightenment strategy aimed at raising awareness about fraudulent schemes and discouraging involvement in financial crimes.The 185th edition is expected to shed light on misconceptions surrounding so-called fetish-related internet fraud practices and examine their social and legal implications.(News register.com)
