NAWOJ Praises Women for Historic March to National Assembly Over Special Seats Bill Sponsored

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has commended Nigerian women for their bold and united demand for equitable representation in governance.

The association praised the courage and determination of women who participated in a peaceful march to the National Assembly in support of the Special Seats Bill.

NAWOJ emphasized that the march represents a movement calling for justice, fairness, and inclusion in Nigeria’s political landscape.

The association noted that women have contributed significantly to nation-building, yet their representation in elective offices remains disproportionately low .

The Special Seats Bill aims to increase female representation in Nigeria’s legislative chambers through constitutional amendment.

NAWOJ urged legislators to prioritize the bill and pass it without delay, emphasizing that inclusive governance is essential for Nigeria’s democratic progress.
