Otti unveils new Enyimba coach, Emmanuel Desutch, sacks club’s accountant

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, on Tuesday, unveiled the new Head Coach of Enyimba International, Emmanuel Gustave Deutsch.

He also announced the removal of the club’s accountant, saying that he was deliberate in restoring professionalism and stability within the club.

The Governor made this known during a high-level meeting with the club’s management at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.

Otti, who was represented by his Deputy, Ikechukwu Emetu during the meeting, also confirmed the appointment of Mr. Daniel Eke as Enyimba’s Sporting Director.

The Governor assured the management, technical crew, players, and the staff of his administration’s firm commitment to the immediate settlement of all outstanding arrears, including salaries, allowances, match bonuses, and other welfare obligations.

He emphasized that the welfare of players and staff remained a priority and was fundamental to achieving the club’s strategic objectives.

Otti further urged the management, staff and players to embrace the new reforms and reiterated the Abia State government’s resolve to reposition the club to its pride of place in Nigeria, continent and global football.

Earlier in their separate remarks, the Team Captain, Mr. Kalu Nweke, Assistant Captain, Mr. Ufere Chinedu, and Mr. Eze Ekwutosi, highlighted the challenges confronting the club, including unpaid salaries, allowances, match bonuses, limited welfare support for injured players, and other operational concerns.

They appealed for urgent government intervention to enable the team to regain stability and competitive form.

In his acceptance remarks, the newly appointed Head Coach, Mr. Emmanuel Dutch, expressed profound appreciation to the Governor for the confidence reposed in him.
