Sokoto Police Command presentes N29,638,584.78 cheques to families of 10 died police officers

This support is part of the Group Life Assurance Scheme, aimed at alleviating economic hardships faced by the families. The presentation was made on behalf of Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad Musa, by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dcp Umar Sokoto.

Dcp Umar Sokoto advised beneficiaries to use the funds wisely, investing in ventures that’ll benefit their families long-term. He urged them to prioritise their financial goals, needs, and priorities. The gesture is a significant relief to the affected families, acknowledging the immense sacrifice and dedication of the deceased and injured officers to the security of the nation.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Hamimatu Ahmad, widow of a deceased officer, expressed profound gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for his compassion and leadership. She thanked the police leadership for the timely gesture, which has brought relief to the affected families.

Command’s spokesman, DSP Ahmad Rufai anipr in a statement said the Sokoto State Police Command reiterates its unwavering commitment to the welfare of its officers and men, both serving and retired, as well as the families of those who have paid the supreme price in service to the nation. This initiative demonstrates the police command’s dedication to supporting its personnel and their families.
