The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Kaduna Network, on Friday celebrated excellence and selfless service as it honoured distinguished individuals whose contributions have positively impacted society. The award ceremony, held at the corporation’s conference hall, attracted notable dignitaries from across sectors who gathered to witness the recognition of outstanding service to humanity and national development.
his welcome address, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FRCN Chapel, Alhaji Umar Adamu Pada, said the recognition was aimed at celebrating dedication, hard work and meaningful impact, while encouraging others to live lives that touch communities positively.
According to him, the awardees were carefully selected based on their visible contributions and commitment to service. He noted that the gesture was a reminder that good works are seen, valued and appreciated, urging the recipients to remain steadfast in their noble pursuits. The Zonal Director of FRCN, Alhaji Lawal Ali Garba, expressed appreciation for the awardees’ support to both the station and society at large. He traced the history of FRCN, stressing that dedication and perseverance were key to achieving its mandate of informing, educating and enlightening the public. He reaffirmed the station’s commitment to sustaining strong partnerships with stakeholders for the benefit of the populace. Speaking as the Royal Father of the Day, the Dan’iyan Zazzau and General Manager of Karama FM, Radio, Alhaji Abdulrahman Nuhu Bayero, congratulated the honourees, describing them as worthy ambassadors of service and leadership. He said their achievements should inspire others to make effective use of opportunities to contribute meaningfully to societal growth. He further commended institutional leaders for their relentless efforts in driving development, urging them not to relent in their commitment to progress.
Zonal Director, Alhaji Lawal Ali Garba presenting award to the Registrar MBAIS, Prof. Yahuza lmam represented by Director procurement, Adamu Rabiu Among those recognised was the Registrar of the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS), Prof. Sulaiman Yahuza Imam, who was honoured for his role in strengthening Arabic and Islamic education and ensuring the graduation of many students. The award was received on his behalf by the Director of Procurement, Adamu Rabiu. The Rector of Kaduna Polytechnic, Dr. Suleiman Umar, was also commended for remarkable infrastructural development and the overall facelift of the institution. His leadership, the organisers noted, has left a lasting mark on technical education in Nigeria. He was represented by his Special Assistant, Alhaji Bala Aliyu. Barrister Aysha Ahmad Muhammad, Board Secretary and Director of Legal Services at the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, was recognised for her philanthropic and humanitarian efforts. She was described as a strong advocate against injustice and a compassionate contributor to community welfare.
Also honoured was the Chairman of Zaria Local Government Area, Engr. Jamilu Ahmed Jaga, who received the award for outstanding infrastructural development, particularly in road construction that has eased movement across communities. He was named Best Chairman of 2025 and represented by his Press Secretary, Alhaji Isiaku Galadima. In his remarks, Alhaji Abdulrahman Nuhu Bayero lamented the numerous challenges facing the nation, calling for collective responsibility and active participation of capable individuals to move Nigeria forward, especially in the northern and rural regions. He also charged institutions and the public to partner with Radio Nigeria Kaduna and other media platforms to showcase developmental efforts, stressing that effective communication helps citizens appreciate government actions and reinforces public trust.
Director of News and Current Affairs, represented by the Assistant Director, Alhaji Adamu Yusuf, delivered the vote of thanks, congratulating the awardees and applauding their enduring contributions to humanity. Altogether, four distinguished individuals were honoured at the ceremony for their exceptional service and commitment to societal development.
